According to Football Scoop, Smart’s extension will likely be in the 7-year, $50 million range.
Smart, 42, played at Georgia and then became an assistant at Alabama in 2007, where he worked until 2015. After going 8-5 in his first season, Smart led the Bulldogs to a 13-2 season last year, including an appearance in the national championship game.

I think we can all make an educated guess on which employee.
Kirby Smart’s $7 million, plus Jimbo and Gus at about the same, pushes the AVERAGE SEC coach’s salary (round figure of $8 million for Saban, not the bonus-boosted $11 million from last year, and excluding Orgeron’s use of a university pirogue) to a cool $4.56 million.— Cecil Hurt (@CecilHurt) May 3, 2018
